Welcome to the Holy Rosary School Parent’s Club – Upcoming Events Below!

MAY IS BIKE TO SCHOOL MONTH!

All students are invited to participate by biking/walking/scooting/skipping to school during the entire month of May. Raffle prizes will be given out weekly to students that participate. Tracking calendars will be available at the Bike to School Month table on the north side of school starting Friday, May 1st!

What if I live too far away to bike? What if I take the bus to school?

When you get home, ride/scoot/walk for at least 15 minutes and it counts!

Have an adult sign off on your calendar and pick up a raffle ticket the next day.

We also need volunteers to help cheer on and count bikers/scooters/walkers, hand out raffle tickets, and help students lock their bikes up every morning throughout the month.

Sign up for one (or more!) days HERE.

Bike Bonanza at the West Seattle Community Garage Sale!

On Saturday, May 9, HRS Parent’s Club is hosting a Bike Bonanza as part of the legendary West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day.

We are collecting up to 50 gently used bikes (kids’ and adult sizes) from HRS families and selling them out front of the school. We’ll have a numbered spot on the official WSCGSD map and listings guide, which gets promoted regionally and draws shoppers from all over.  Unsold bikes will be donated to Bike Works, a Seattle nonprofit that refurbishes bikes for youth and families in need.  We are excited to connect our school, parish, and neighborhood through this unique type of service event!

Here’s how it works:

  • Donate a gently used bike in working order
  • Drop it off at the school hall on Friday, May 8 between 3pm and 6pm
  • We handle the rest on sale day!

Earn volunteer hours: Parents will receive 1 volunteer hour for every bike donated.

Own a Guardian Bike? This is a special opportunity through Guardian Bikes’ donation program!  If you donate a Guardian bike to a nonprofit (that’s us!), you can receive a full refund of your original purchase. Donate your kid’s outgrown Guardian bike to the Bike Bonanza, get a donation receipt from HRS, and Guardian refunds your money. Your old bike goes to a child in need, and you get your money back. Details at guardianbikes.com.

We also need volunteers to help with the Friday bike check-in (3pm to 6pm) and Saturday sales (9am to 3pm). 7th and 8th graders, this counts as service hours!
